TILIMUQUI ZERO WINS SILVER FOR ARGENTINA IN THE IWC 2026 TRANCHE 1

La Riojana is very proud to announce that its Tilimuqui Fairtrade Sparkling Zero has been awarded a Silver Medal in Tranche 1 of the International Wine Challenge 2026, making it the only Argentine entrant to win an award in the no / low alcohol entries, marking a significant achievement for La Riojana’s latest innovation in the increasingly popular mindful drinking category.

Awarded an impressive 90 points and a Silver Medal in early December 2025, Tilimuqui Zero was also one of just five entries to receive Silver in the highly competitive Low / No Alcohol category. IWC judges praised its quality and balance, describing it as “aromatic with tropical fruits on the nose, gentle sparkle, fresh acidity with apricot fruit. Well balanced.”

Launched in October 2025, this sophisticated 0% alcohol sparkling wine has been made from hand-picked Fairtrade wine grapes grown in La Riojana’s own vineyards in the Famatina Valley, La Rioja Province, which have gone through a state-of-the-art de-alcoholisation process, carefully preserving the character, freshness and flavour of the original wine. Resulting in an ideal aperitif, which delivers the taste, aroma and celebratory experience of wine, but without the alcohol.

Commenting on the award, La Riojana’s Export Director, Walter Carol said “We are delighted to receive this Silver Medal from the International Wine Challenge. This recognition reflects the dedication of our growers and winemaking team, and our commitment to producing alcohol-free wines that genuinely stand alongside traditional sparkling wines in terms of quality, balance and enjoyment.”

Tilimuqui Fairtrade Sparkling Zero is available at a recommended retail price of £5.00, exclusively in over 500 Co-op stores across the UK.
