Since this date, as many as four generations and several hundred families have been involved in producing grapes for La Riojana co-operative and have helped make it not only one of the largest and most successful co-operatives in Argentina today with an annual production of around 4 million cases of wine, but also the world’s largest producer of certified Fairtrade-organic wine.

Our co-operative currently has over 500 members, the majority of whom are small-scale producers with less than three hectares of land given to grape production and come from across the La Rioja province.  Many of our members are the children of former co-operative members and therefore are continuing the family tradition of producing grapes for the co-operative.
